Port to Port: A Sketchbook Journey Around the World

In 2025, I completed Port to Port: A Sketchbook Journey Around the World, a four-month visual journal created while traveling with my husband, Jeff. We sailed from Los Angeles to London by sea, stopping in over 20 countries. Each day, I painted, drew, or wrote something that captured where we were — from lemurs in Madagascar to street cafés in Portugal, desert dunes in Namibia to temples in Indonesia.

Many of the illustrations were painted from life or from my own photographs, and often layered with notes from guides, historical research, and the printed ship logs we received daily. Over the course of the journey, the sketchbooks became an unfolding story — our daily lives as we experienced them.
