An Illustrated Life

Because the objects we love tell our story.

An Illustrated Life is a custom series I’ve created for over 25 years. Each piece is a visual biography — composed of meaningful objects, symbols, and memories — rendered in pen, ink, and watercolor. These artworks are often commissioned to mark a transition: a move, a graduation, a wedding, a retirement, or simply to honor someone’s sense of self.

Examples:

  • A dorm room piece filled with comforting items from childhood and identity symbols

  • A family tribute commissioned decades ago, filled with home, heritage, and shared memories

  • A new beginning — captured in cherished items that tell the story of where someone has been and where they’re going

A colorful illustrated collage featuring a kitchen with red cabinets, hanging pots, a window, and a fridge; a bookshelf with a sheep picture and a large decorated letter 'C'; a person meditating on a pink mat with a chalkboard; and a landscape scene of mountains, forests, and a river at sunset.
A colorful drawing of an indoor scene featuring a red double-decker bus, cartoon-style animals, a stained-glass pride flag, framed pictures of a lighthouse and water, a sofa with pride flags, a rainbow-colored bar, a shelf with various objects, and a character from the animated series 'Sauron' with a yellow spiky hairstyle.
A collage of various images including a black and white group photo of three women, hanging pots, a pink apron with words 'World's Best Cook', a map of Poland, logos and emblems for Montreal, Amsterdam, and other cities, a photo of colorful buildings, a vintage tram, and various plaques and logos related to city and historical references.
A hand-drawn collage of a young boy sitting on a basketball, a basketball hoop, posters of movies and TV shows, a computer, a red radio, a stack of books, a chess set, and theatrical masks labeled 'Act 1 Scene 1'. There is a beach scene, a cityscape with blue buildings, a sign reading 'Jersey Shore', and Hebrew text at the bottom.
