World Cruise Art Journal
My sketchbooks are more than travel journals — they are emotional atlases. Created during a four-month world voyage that began just after my father’s passing, this body of work documents not only where I went, but how I saw. Each page merges direct observation with personal reflection: a morning in Istanbul, a sunset at sea, a moment of grief, or wonder.
My creative process begins with photography — collecting moments, textures, and light — and continues with pen, brush, and calligraphic memory. These journals are layered with watercolor, ink, found color, and handwritten text. They are both maps and memoirs.
In dedicating this work to my father, Stanley Mark Diamond, who first showed me the world, I hope to honor not only place, but presence. To slow down. To look closely. To make marks that remember.
